Offset music equipment costs by purchasing used recording studio equipment

Music equipment starts to get expensive if you develop a passion for it. I have several friends with whom I regularly share equipment to avoid having to outlay the cost for new equipment. Each of us purchases the occasional piece of equipment but the cost is often prohibitive. One way we have offset the cost is by purchasing used recording studio equipment. Doing so allows us to save considerably off the normal retail price. The equipment is usually always in good condition and there is really no reason to pay a premium for new gear given the savings that are on offer.
