Google realized long ago that when people link back to a site they are putting their reputation and the reputation of their blog on the line and so anyone linking to a site from a blog was doing it because they truly liked the site. People started to depend on others blogging for backlinks to their site. It’s always nice to get someone to write a sizzling piece and using your site as a great reference to more cool stuff to check out.
