Why not a discount broker?

Many people who are new to investing have very limited funds — so they believe that the best way to go is to use some sort of a discount brokerage service. But keep in mind that if you use a discount broker, instead of a full service stock market broker, you will not have access to any type of advisory or consultative services. You will need to master the intricacies of investment research, and won’t have anyone to turn to if you have a perplexing problem or need to rely on someone else’s experience — it will all be in your hands. Most newbies of the field of investing are not prepared for this experience, so beware.
