Idaho is the latest state to crackdown on persons texting behind the wheel of an automobile.

Yesterday, the governor of that state signed a bill that would make it illegal for anyone to text while driving within Idaho state lines. It reportedly took over three years of pressure and support from the Legislature, insurance companies, and law enforcement agencies to get it to happen.

Fines will carry a value of $85, and motorists can expect the ban to begin on July 1. At that time, Idaho will be the latest of 35 states in total to take up a ban on texting and driving. Washington D.C. also bans the practice.
