Dreaming Wide Awake

There is nothing worse in the world than wanting to sleep, needing to sleep and being unable to do so. Insomnia is a slow torture. I would rather be sick with the flu than to have a serious case of the “I can’t fall asleep blues”. The world seems to move in slow motion and you don’t feel like one of the living. It’s like you are in a strange dream but can’t wake up. Once you do finally reach a state of exhaustion and feel like you could finally fall asleep, the morning is already upon you and now you are left facing a long day of semi existence. then, in the night, the insomnia returns and the whole process begins again.
