Care for Your Blinds

Household window blinds always seem to be magnets for dust. A quick inspection around the house reveals that not a single set of blinds is dust-free. Fortunately, there are simple methods for cleaning blinds. If your mini blinds need a deep cleaning, and can be washed, fill a bathtub with warm, soapy water. Remove the blinds from the window and place them in the tub to soak. If the blinds are white, you can add bleach. For a quick cleaning of blinds around your house, lower and close the blinds so they are as flat as possible. Then, run a cotton dust cloth from side to side. Once the initial layer of dust is gone, run an antistatic dryer sheet over the slats to help repel dust.
