The Role of American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is the United States’ reliable emergency response organization. It was founded in 1881 by prophet leader Clara Barton to render charitable care to the victims of war and supporting injured parties of devastating natural disasters.
As time goes by, the service of the American Red Cross expanded by including compassionate services in five more areas such as the following: “(1) services in the community that help those who are in need (2) help and comfort for defense forces members and their loved ones (3) the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood merchandises (4) educational programs that promote well being and safety (5) and international relief and development programs.”
