How to Get My Ex Back

If you were involved in a long-term relationship with a boyfriend or girlfriend, and the relationship suddenly ends and this ending was a surprise to you, it is a pretty good sign that there were communication problems within the relationship long before the actual breakup occurred. You may not be willing at this time to take ownership of your role in the breakup, but it is something you will have to eventually do in order to have any chance at all of getting back together with your ex. If you are asking yourself the question “how to get my ex back?” remember, you only control half the equation. Your ex girlfriend or boyfriend may or may not be willing to talk about getting back together, particularly if it has only been a week or two after the breakup. The best thing you can do at this point is to let some time pass, at least a week (two weeks is better), before trying to communicate with him or her. Of course if your ex calls you or text messages you asking to talk, feel free to do so. Typically after a breakup, there is a cooling off period that is helpful to both sides and gives you both time to reflect on what went wrong and whether the relationship is worth saving.
