Pastry Shoes are Blowing UP
Have you heard of Pastry Shoes? It’s sweet but street mainstream urbanwear that hit the stores in 2007 with only 4 shoes. Pastry Kicks are the brainchild of Vanessa and Angela Simmons, daughters of rap legend Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, one third of the iconic rap group Run DMC. Vanessa and Angela have shoes in their DNA, given their father’s boost to Adidas back in the day which helped branding managers everywhere wake up to the power that music acts can have in influencing buyer’s choices especially in the areas of personal appearance. Rev Run’s brother Russell Simmons no doubt have mentored the girls, having created several empires ranging from music group management and Def Jam Records to women’s apparel to non-profit initiatives.
