Hurricane Records Indicate 2005 to be Busiest Season
I have studied various hurricane records extensively and am extremely knowledgeable when it comes to these potentially devastating storms. I can tell you the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season is the busiest on record and extended the active hurricane cycle that began in 1995. This trend was then forecasted to likely continue for years to come. The season included twenty eight named storms, including fifteen hurricanes in which seven were considered major - category 3 or higher. Letters of the Greek alphabet even had to be used to name storms for the first time which only happens after the original list of twenty one names is exhausted.
