Data Allowances on HarbourSat

The broadband satellite Internet connectivity offered by Harbour IT’s HarbourSat has a speed that is at least ten to twenty times faster than dial-up.  Because many people are using the same type of connection to the same satellite, there is a data allowance that people must follow.  Essentially, this is a maximum amount of data that can be loaded from web surfing for the low price per month.  Once this data allowance is exceeded, a person must either pay five cents per megabyte above the allowance or have his or her connection speed drow to just above dial-up speed so he or she can continue to use the Internet without having to pay extra.
