Suunto watches aquired Recta the manufacturer of quality compass

Recta-brand is well-known for its high quality and its main markets are central Europe, especially Switzerland.  Recta was acquired by Finnish company, Suunto Watches in 1996.  Due to the increasing competition from electronic navigation equipment and increasing cost pressure among the competition, Suunto and Recta have decided to move the production of Recta compasses to Finland.  In order to maintain the high quality in Recta compasses and maintain the production in Europe, the production of the Recta-branded compasses will be integrated to the mechanical compass production line in the Suunto factory in Vantaa, Finland.
